All of the emperor's roof structures had these types of figures. The one of the right appears to be a man riding an enormous chicken. Since chickens are seen to be very smart and wise in Chinese folklore, I'm sure this statue is complimentary of the emperor. In any case, this sort of art is rarely found in America and even so in less detail.
