For instance, in America when you buy a home, the home typically has all the appliances and is ready for moving in (turnkey). However, in China this is not the case. When you buy a new home, you still need to put down a floor, put cabinets and appliances in the kitchen. Basically, it's a shell of a home and not ready to live in until you spend another $50K - $100K on the essentials and get it ready for moving in.
